While Facebook does seem to be having stability issues lately, they wouldn't revert to using a non-official application to make announcements (FunWall wasn't created by Facebook).

If an announcement of this sort was ever made, I think it would be more likely to be sent to your message inbox or your e-mail address with a link to click on to confirm that you are an active member.

Another clue would be the structure and grammar of the message ... they're both totally off. This is just spam - one of the things that slow Facebook down.
Reply:it has to be. that would be very unorthodox.
Reply:Faker then the Bush administrations morals.
Reply:~ Facebook has s bunch of easier ways to find out.

~ FanWall isn't created by facebook!

So this is obviously FAKE!

=)
Reply:soooooooooo fake. delete funwall, everything is fake... .dont reply ever. facebook has a lot easier ways of finding out if you're active such as the last time u logged in
